This listing is NOT a foreclosure. This is a large house that can be configured easily to meet your needs. Finished basement has windows and would be a great apartment. The den on the first floor is so large it can be a mother in law suite or second master. The living room is huge with a working fireplace and antique hardwood. The bedrooms are very large And there is so much closet space throughout. The heated pool means you can swim from April through September. The pool is super easy to take care of. There is a pool-house plumbed for a bathroom, but youd have to finish that. The heater is gas so its really inexpensive to operate. The hot tub works and is lovely all year round. There is a garage/workshop detached. The drive way can fit ten cars. Its been great when all the kids were home, and their friends. Its the BEST party house! Theres a park nearby and the neighborhood is great. The best part of the house is the location. Bivens is central to Amarillo, so traveling doesnt include the congestion of the southwest part if town. Were a mile from the Sod Poodles ballpark. You can bike there. We did. The sprinklers were just repaired so the grass is still returning to where it should be but we just have had 50 bushes planted and the property will be beautiful in the spring. We just had the screen room tiled with slate and it leads out to the in-ground pool. The dining room connects to the screen room through a beautiful door with side lights. The dining room has our table that seats 12. Very large room with built in china closets/shelves in the corners. Two of the large bedrooms upstairs also have full wall built in shelves with drawers and plenty of window overlooking the pool. The windows in the house are all replaced and the roof is just a few years old. It is a brick house but a previous owner put vinyl siding on the front. The brick might have been nice, but the siding requires no maintenance. We had the house painted and with the sprayer, it look the man just a few hours to do the whole thing. There is a two car carport on the side leading to the garage. The master suite is gigantic with her walk in and his almost walk in closet. The shower has a glass wall and is updated. The hall bath on the second floor has the original cast iron tub in great shape, but new tiles and a giant storage closet. The upstairs baths both have ceiling heat for when you get out of the shower. Theres more storage that you can use. There is a foyer between the upstairs bedrooms that has a vanity and mirrors. Really nice for getting ready to go out. Weve not had any problems with any plumbing or electrical. After 93 years, any problems would have already happened. There are two closets off the entry foyer and the ground level full bath has a carved wood vanity with a granite top. The kitchen has a large amount of real wood cabinets. The stainless appliances include a french door fridge, freestanding double oven/five burner gas stove and matching dishwasher and microwave. Theyre in great condition and will last for many years. We just replaced an air conditioner compressor and the other is in great condition. It it a large house but pretty easy to take care of especially considering how fun the in-ground pool/slide/diving board is for six months out of the year. The sprinkler controls arent even a year old and very easy to operate. We have all the paperwork for the appliance, hot tub, sprinkler system etc. If you dont need all the space, you can easily have a small wall built and turn the basement into an apartment or even add one on the ground floor or both. Not sure of the codes, but you can have your grown kids live with you, or parents, and not even know it. The basement has a kitchen/bar that sports the original dumb waiter from the time before the end of prohibition. I think they secretly had the servants send cocktails to the parlor from the secret basement bar. The basement has enough room to add a second large bedroom and still have a giant living area. The stained concrete floor doesnt have a single crack in it. We had foosball and ping ping, but you can have anything youd like. We cant take the nice ping pong table so you can keep it. The yard is double lot so it's the biggest around. There are the mega houses nearby, but since some of the neighbors houses sell for half a million, this house is a steal. We love the fireplace with the built in, lit glass shelves on either side. I still have a quarter cord of wood you can have. The utilities are pretty low considering the size. The new windows really helped. I will leave all pool stuff behind and will negotiate for all furniture inside. You can come look at any time, but it will probably be lived in as the photos would suggest. Look on Zillow for different pics.
